WEATHER
Crete’s the largest of the Greek islands, and sits in the southern Aegean between the mainland and North Africa. This means you can look forward to long, sunny and dry days in June. Crete has the warmest weather in all of Greece. The mountains that stretch from east to west through the middle of the island block north westerly winds from reaching the south, which means it’s warmer and drier than the north. Breezes will keep you nice and cool on the coast, while things are a bit cooler in the mountains.
The average temperature in Crete is about 74ºF/24ºC in June, and the weather stays quite warm in the evenings. The sea temperature is, on average, 73ºF/23ºC, while humidity is moderate.
